- The
name was born from Oklahoma City, the thriving new metropolitan area
located in the very center of the travel routes that spanned the nation.
ZOOM CITY -- the band, much like it's namesake,
is rooted deeply in the rich traditions of classic rock but with the
versatility to cover the best of the present. With a songlist that includes
everything from Motown to Santana, The Rolling Stones to Steely Dan,
there is something for everyone in a ZOOM CITY performance.
- Jerry
Murphy (drums) and Bronson
Warren (bass) provide the foundation for the "Zoom
Citizens." Rock
solid rhythm with enough structural funk to "rock the house"
-- this is where it all starts.
- Jimi
Fleming (rhythm guitar and vocals) David
Peak (keyboards, acoustic guitar and vocals) and Rick George (lead
guitar and vocals) add to the infrastructure. Rich chord development
and lead riffs that span the spectrum from smooth and melodic to searing
hot, add depth to the design. Versatile vocal arrangements with layered
harmonies resonate
throughout the city with central clarity.
The final touch comes in the form of the added dimension of horns. Allen
Correll (trumpet) and Bill
Pearson (saxophone) add the complete aesthetic
flow found only in a horn band. Whether it's a wall of supporting sound
or the intricacies of a signature counter melody -- they add that unmistakable
touch.
